Who I am
I am a person just like you that has been busy spinning a life. Raised in Oklahoma City by my grandparents, a commercial and a fine artist, death in my family not only preceded me but continued thematically. I wouldn’t say all of my family has passed but many have and while I can’t say I understood death as a young person I can certainly say I felt it and I felt what others around me felt, but I didn’t know what to do with those feelings.
At the age of 20 I studied to be a Birth Doula, Breastfeeding Educator, and Infant Massage Facilitator while pregnant with my first born. We lived in several mountain ranges of Arizona (The Huachucas, White, and The San Francisco Peaks) for a number of years before moving to Los Angeles in 2007. Two babies and a decade later I went into my own Birth & Postpartum Doula practice full-steam. This time in my life was a rich education from my children, the world, my clients, and the continued lived experience of my extended family as it aged and shrunk.
Which has brought me here, to you, physically in Orange County and presently world-wide as I take the most natural next step into End-of-Life Care as a Death Doula. Life is hard, death doesn’t have to be. Let me help you help yourself.
